I've been wanting to give an update for some time now on some happenings here at First Free. For those of you who have been worshipping with us on Sunday, you are aware that my good friend Pastor Bob Funk and his flock "CrossWay Church" has been worshipping with and sharing ministry with us for the past four weeks. Last week, Pastor Funk and I did a first for the both of us - we "tag-teamed" preached the message. I began, he finished. It was a challenge for both of us to remain succinct, realizing that the time allotted wasn't solely ours. We had to share it. While this is always true - the time you give us to share is just that - shared, this was a new twist. It was fun, and we'll have to try it again. If you've checked the church calendar we have linked here online, you will also see that we are having a potluck on the 22nd of November. If you're "out there" and have been thinking of checking our the church, this is a good time to do it. Hanging out eating together after the service is a good time to get to know some folks. We'd love to have you join us.

Back to CrossWay and FEFC's joint ministry venture. If you have a vested interest in the ministry of either church, I ask you to keep praying for God's direction. I see great potential in us doing ministry together and have definite thoughts on the direction that might take, but the joy and peace I have in all of this is found in the simple reminder that both flocks belong to God. Talk about a "vested" interest (!) - Jesus purchased both both flocks with His blood (Acts 20:28), their future is in His hands. He will lead us. Of that, I have no doubts. Speaking of Jesus, please come and hear/interact with us in the next two weeks (11/15 and 11/22). On these two Sundays we will be looking at the EFCA articles #4 & #5 on Jesus and His work. Two venues are offered: Adult Education at 9 a.m. and our worship service at 10:30. I'd love to see and meet you at both. If you're new to the church, come introduce yourself to me. See you there! - Pastor Bob Manuel
