As mentioned in an earlier post, this Sunday, July 19th, I begin a series on "The Prodigal God". The title is taken from Timothy Keller's book. I highly recommend you read the book. It will make you think twice about how we live together in a community of believers, and, whether or not you see yourself as a "younger" or "older brother". Most of all, it will move you to praise our "Prodigal" ("wasteful"/"extravagant") God. How wonderful, that our God, in Jesus Christ, has "wasted" His grace on such people like you and I!

What else is going on here? Well, yesterday we finished basketball camp. What a week this was! For all who were there at camp, you would have to attest that something significant occurred. It wasn't just the amount of people who were there - though by all accounts it was the best-attended camp we've ever done. The "feel" of the camp, what happened, the sounds, sights, relationships, etc., all seemed to speak of "God" and His Kingdom. I urge all who read this to PRAY. PRAY that we would be able to hear the voice of God and have the courage to obey, of what might be next for our flock here, in how to reach people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I want to THANK ALL OF YOU for whatever role you had in the camp. It was a great time! I hope to see you on Sunday. If you are not a regular worshipper at our church, and you'd still like to chat, drop me an email, give me a call or whatever. I'd love to get together and see what God might be doing in your life. Thanks for reading!
